Actually, one section of wall is still enclosed by the form several months after being poured. It did harden fine. PC shrinks away from a form, leaving an air gap that aids with drying. Normally the form is moved up for the next pour, but work was stopped for winter and the form was left in place. That section is as hard as the rest of the wall and no sign of mold.

Usually there is no substitute for getting your hands dirty, but with pc your hands don't get dirty!

I dont suppose by any chance that you mean your walls hardened while they were fully enclosed with an impermeable moulding frame? I'm looking at moulding slender columns in a single shot, but presumed an impermeable mould would stop it setting. If going to a much richer mix (more cement) like yours would solve that, I'd be interested in going that route.  Its a shame I havent got more hands on experimenting time at the moment!   thanks, NT
