Judith, Your reasons sound like mine. Have you a garden growing there? If you do (or even if you don't) there is an organization that is alive and well that you may be interested in becoming a member of. It is called World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms (WWOOF). You provide food, shelter, and work and they (someone) will come help you and expect no pay, only to learn something new.
