[papercreters] Re: New interest after 13 years

Two issues with that.

How would you get all the pulp out, considering you're working with a perforated tub you'd end up eventually with the exterior (unperforated) tub coated with a coating of the slime that would come off your contents.

And second, I'd be worried about killing the drainage function of the washer.

You COULD make something similar or even re-engineer an old washing machine somehow so chug-chug & spin are all it does...and figure out a way to dump the contents of the tub more easily...and enlarge the drainage so clogging wouldn't happen...and while you're at it make a way to remove the (perforated) tub to clean the (exterior) tub regularly.

Could you put hammer milled or shredded paper in the machine, add cement, churn for a while then let the spin take the water out and have a sort of dry pulp? I have seen old washers used to wash lettuce. It would be nice to find a use for them and all switch to the low water usage front load models. Just a quick thought as I read Charmaine's message about using a blender.
