Ron- if you have paper or not, making a floor has been done using
natural materials for centuries. it used to be just a local clay pit
had good clay, and it was mixed with sand, and manure, and pounded
down on top of a dirt base in a hut. it is swept daily, or
scattered with straw to catch droppings. liquids, and the floors were
often polished with olive oil, or bees wax.
Today people use all sorts of materials for their floors. boiled
linseed oil is often mentioned as the final sealer, athough it smells,
and there are issues with it never drying out. I have seen several
earth floors, many had manure in them, and it is simply another
ingredient that is organic.
I posted the links to making floors already in my last email.
