Jano-- I have talked to a lady who used a standard washer (Upright,
not side load) and it made a horrid mess, as the holes in the washdrum
clogged up, and ruined her washer,
Now, ya'll know I have used a WRINGER WASHER for years--but as you
said you don't put cement in the mixer.. you can add that AFTER the
papercrete base is mixed.
I have used the great little washer for many reasons.. it sits on
wheels, can be moved, and is comfy height to bend over for removing
the mix ( too thick to go thru the water discharge tube) easier to
lift out by the pailful.
then mix cement or other latex paint, etc additives later.. now this
washer does not chop-- my paper or sawdust is all fine shredded first
anyway, but think of it... you put in the paper shreds, add some
clay/sand, a lot of water and let it chug away for 30 minutes-- really
wonderful fun. if left covered the clay paper mix can harden up a
bit, but add fresh water and just let it mix again. a regular washer
wont shred paper either, just tumble it.
