[papercreters] Re: Milk Paint

Anyone try out some of these recipes?
I scoured the town and finally found hydrated lime and whiting.
and then, I tried a recipe that uses:
quark(9oz), borax(1/4c), whiting(1/2c)

I painted that one on and it was too thin. and then, now dry it is a
bit powdery. (ugh) I was hoping to find one that gets hard without
having to seal it. (because I don't want to deal with the linseed oil
- it is expensive and, if you get the boiled kind, full of yuck)

This recipe said it would get hard without sealing and that it was
good for children's furniture.

what else have you found???
