[papercreters] Re: newbie alert! (and thank you for being here for me)

Welcome bdcku,

LOL. Yep... a Kitchen Blender is a nightmare for making papercrete.

I have a blender I got at a garage sale for a buck that I use to make
teeny tiny test batches. I can make 2 or 3 samples about a cubic
centimeter in size in one blender load. That's about the limit to
what the device can perform. hehehe

Be extremely careful even working at that small size. An old blender
I used to used released a cloud of blue smoke as it made a aweful
noise and quit. It's a good way to completely ruin a blender.

Yes, you can progress to the bucket technique, and you might be able
to create enough quantity that way to eventually cover your mobile
home, but you'd still be approaching the project like an ant trying
to move an entire picnic spread.

The best approach for you is to think about building a large mixer so
you can get serious about your project. If you try to piddle away at
it for 5 years, you'll probably give up before you finish.

For your situation, a Tow Mixer would be perfect. You live right in
the middle of prime real estate for papercrete. A good tow mixer
will allow you to make large enough quantities to completely cover
you mobile home.

Since your seminar is in October, it's not reasonable to expect that
you'll have any chance of covering your mobile home before this
winter. You simply won't have enough time. You can however work
toward getting all the tools you'll need and experiment with the
recipe that you choose to use.

Having the experience of mixing up a bucket or two of papercrete
before your seminar may be helpful. It will help you get the right
questions in your mind before you attend the seminar.

It wouldn't hurt to keep your eyes open for parts for your tow mixer,
assuming you choose to go down that path.
