RE: [papercreters] Ferro Cement Roofs

I would love for this method to work.  My only concern is how would you know if your membrane had failed?  When it becomes so heavy it collapses on you?

Subject: [papercreters] Ferro Cement Roofs

I posted a few pics here of roofs built by stretching fiberglass
screen across a wooden frame and painting it with a 50/50 mixture of
water , and latex paint with enough Portland to make it soupy and then
another layer with 3 parts sand to the Portland mixed with the latex
water.

It seems a way to protect a papercrete structure and allow using a
thick flat roof of papercrete for super insulation and ease of
construction. The SW style with logs across the top walls is easy and
cheap to build .

The pics are listed as ferrocement roofs.
