Are you talking about:
http://dw1.dns77.com/envirocoat//exteriorproducts.html
If so, I could not find anything that supported the r24 insulative
factor. Only reference I found was:
"We don't make claims about specific energy savings if Liquid Ceramic®
is applied to your home or building, just as an insulation company
would not. However, our testing does show that two coats of Liquid
Ceramic® Exterior Wall Coating provides three times the amount of
thermal flow reduction, as measured in BTU's, as compared to two coats
of ordinary house paint."
Even without the R value, it looks like an excellent product for
coating papercrete as a water barrier. It has a breathability of 20
perms (allowing a large amount of water to escape as a vapor) with
good fire, mold, midlew and UV resistance characteristics. Down sides
I can see would be cost, they provide no estimates other than
"approximately 3 times the cost of conventional paint", which could
mean anywhere from $45 to $150 a gallon.
I would certainly be interested to know how it goes for you, please
post back when you have some applied.
