I just put up a couple pics of the turbine mixer in a warped 1/2 drum
you can see more of John's stuff done 8 years ago, at www.tree.org
see the "alt building" links
he poured a floor, some steps and walls, and experimented, but has
not continued as far as I know. I met and spoke with him for my
book when he first created the floor and steps.
he had hemp stalks and plant materials, sand and cement, but NO clay
on his property, so he used what he had and called it Agstone--
agricultural stone-- he used a commercial wood chipper and tore up all
the useless shrubby weeds on his property and use them.. thus
solidifying my insistence that "papercrete" is an IDEA.. just about
any thing can be used...
PS-- he had never heard of papercrete when I interviewed him, he just
created his mix on how own. he didn't like using cement as he is eco
groovy.. but without clay had few options. He began testing lime
after we talked, but did not do much more as he needed to run his
business and not just experiment.
