Having been and worked with and around contractors for many years, if you dont understand everything they are telling you, if you do not have a system to account for every $$$ on the project, and be willing to end up in court if a joker contractor does not hold up their end of the bargan, then you do not want to play in thier sand lot.
I have seen multi-milllion dollar projects go to do-do because of the same thing which happened to Ed. This is sad because in Silver City and the SW corner of NM is the PC hotbed. I just Mike McCain was not involved in this fiasco.
This may not be anything sinister, just a inept contractor not being able to deliver.
