Greg, I am not sure about other plasics burning any cleaner; the code does not allow any PVC vent pipe into the return air space of commercial buildings. Soley for the reason of chlorine gas during a fire. I have heard some inspectors say they expect it to be outlowed in about5 years; yet these code restriction for PVC have never been enforced for residential building. Kind of a double standard. Keep in mind, whn refering to the size of water (potable water) or sewer (DWV) pipe it's isdetermined size is by ID not OD. The Od is most often used in HVAC. The two questions I would ask about the 2" PEX is , was it manufactured for radiant heat or potable water application. the two have different manufacture's specs, also what is the cost of the equipment to assemble the PEX. I agre that 1" is as large as I have used in residential application. If you plan on building a house give an e-mail before you start construction and maybe I could put some plumbing diagrams together for you. I will at least show you how to ask the right questions and know what you are apying for--- NEVER PAY BEFORE YOU RECEIVE FOR ANY CONSTRUCTION. Ed Bishop From: Greg House <ghunicycle@yahoo.com> |
