RE: [papercreters] Offgassing of concrete

Lets see,

Cement is manufactured using lots of heat which usually means fuel burning thus CO2 + I Believe CO2 is driven off in the process, but reabsorbed in the cure.

I don’t believe as much CO2 is produced once, compared to the amount of CO2 a tree absorbs.  How many trees does it take to build a house?  Paper waste and cement seem a good alternative.

Subject: [papercreters] Offgassing of concrete

HI all,

My husband was informed by one of his coworkers that the offgassing of curing concrete is a
major component of global warming. I have never heard of this and was wondering if there is
any truth to this at all?

I'd be curious to hear from all of you on this. My gut reaction is that the guy either has gotten
some propoganda info, or he misinterpreted what he heard. Either way, would really like to
know the specifics so I can front this question intelligently.

Thanks!
