Thanks for this Janosh,

Do you know of any information that would quantify how much Borax is
necessary for effective fire & bug resistance and how much time that would
likely add to cure time?

Borax has the effect of retarding cement set and may be one of the reasons
for problems with papercrete. It works well for fire and bug retardant with
cellulose alone.
