Re: [papercreters] Great Looking Photos

Bob the corner post are made of concerte with 6" wire mesh and re-bar inside. We used a three foot section of a 12" Plastic Irrigation pipe to slip form the columns. They were partially filled then moved up about five inches every twenty minutes. If let stay longer they would stick and you could not move the form. Ronnie installed handles on each side to make it easier to move the form up.
We needed the strength for the roof which is a Hyperbolic Parabolid shape. This room is a total of 700 square feet which will be the bedroom, Master bath and a laundry room when we are done. We started this project back in December  08, we were shoothing to be done in one year but doesn't look like we are going to make it, however it is as you know quite labor intensive and we feel we have moved along on it at a good pace. When we set the time limit on it we had nothing to base it on since we had never  built with pc before.

You guys make us all envy you. Looks like you are making great progress. I've got a few  questions.

  • How did you pour your corner post?
  • Are they concrete or papercrete?

Looks like you might have use something like a 5 gal bucket as a slipform, maybe around one of those other poles like I see in your photos that are being encapsuated inside your PC Wall. Keep up the photos.
