Re: [papercreters] Re: Ed Conley - Project Photos / Followup Mail

Dogs are great. :) Even when a person stays on the property, there's no alarm quite like several large dogs giving an intruder alert, and they're 'turned on' all the time.

All good points, but the ventilation is the only one that is specific
to papercrete. Construction sites are rife with theft of tools,
materials and even heavy equipment.

If you have power available, dehumidification could be accomplish
through window unit air conditioners, whole house fans or other
methods. Without power a solar oven could be used to accelerate drying
of blocks prior to storage inside the building. They are cheap and
reasonably easy to construct. Other options include staying on the
property (windows could be opened if someone is going to be on site),
fencing or gating (could be pricey), or making the site otherwise
unattractive for would be burglars (dog present, alarms on entrances,
lots of empty .45 shell casing and an empty holster on the porch,
whatever works).
