[papercreters] Representing Mason appropriately -was- Re: Ed Conley - Project Photos / Followup Mail

Okay okay okay Les,  We got the Mason Greenstar website already.

Everyone on Papercreters is more than aware of them.  We don't need their website pounded over our heads a hundred times a day.  (yeah, I exaggerated, but it makes my point.)

Zach Rabon (M-G's owner) is aware of Papercreters.  If Zach wants to discuss ideas and issues of mutual interest here, he has my email address.  I know he does because we have exchanged a few brief private emails.  I don't want to talk about the man behind his back, so I'm even going to send a copy of this posting to his email box.  I try to be straight forward with people.  He may also like to know how people are portraying his company publicly and respond appropriately.

This group is very open both to individuals that want to build for themselves, and to companies that want to make papercrete as a commercial product.  There is plenty of room in the papercrete community for both.  I imagine that if Zach or the owner of another papercrete company chose to openly join this group and explain who he or she was, that many here would enjoy the opportunity to ask questions.  I cannot and will not speak for Zach, but I suspect that he might agree with these assertions.

Papercrete companies wishing to contribute to Papercreters might be manufacturers or even contractors.  They just need to be responsible about respecting Papercreters anti-spam stance and other basic principles that are well documented when each member joins.  Every other member of this group must be respectful of it also.  Including ME!

We all can learn from each other.  I seriously doubt that anyone that owns a successful business got where they are by being closed minded.  It's an important business trait to be able to learn about new ideas and put them to use in the proper way.

If a commercial papercrete company or it's representatives would like to share information and is not certain what is considered spam here, the best method to find out is to be open and ask.  They can email me personally at slurryguy@yahoo.com or our moderators at papercreters-owner@yahoogroups.com

I am certain that there are many common interests between the commercial use of papercrete and individuals that want to make their own.  This need not be an adversarial relationship.  There are many things that we can work togther toward using this forum as a tool to help things along.  Building codes, best practices, structure design, architecture, foundations, and a multitude of other topics are possibilities.

No company or individual of any kind, no matter how well intentioned, will ever be allowed to post spam to this group.  Yes, from time to time a message or two might slip past our volunteer moderators, but it will never be allowed to continue.  Spam has killed previous attempts at Papercrete groups and it WILL NOT be allowed to kill this group.  The best way for anyone to ruin the reputation of their individual account, or the reputation of a company, (angering potential customers) is to spam.  Let's face it.  Most businesses that send out spam are not honest.  I really doubt that a soiled reputation would be appreciated by a quality company.
