As long as you don't mind losing the styrofoam (it will melt as you
know), you can do the same thing in a solar oven. Just make sure that
no one is near the thing while it is going since as you probably know
the fumes are rather toxic.

I prefer to not use styrofoam for that exact reason, I tend to use
crumpled newsprint for my armature if at all possible. I reinforce
with wire coat hanger or aluminum porch screen if necessary. All of
these take the oven fine. Happy sculpting!
