[papercreters] Re: New To Papercrete

I am also new to Papercrete but I do have some experience with
Grancrete.

It hardens very quick, normal working time is less than 5 minutes.
You can apply to itself, meaning you can do a partial, take a break of
an hour or day and mix a new batch and add on.
The cost is about $55 dollars for 50 lb bucket delivered to your door.
It is very strong. It is not very light, lighter than Portland cement
but still heavy. It sticks (bonds?) to about anything except glass
and shiny plastic. It is said to be waterproof if 1/8 inch thick but
my experiments had myriad hairline cracks which did leak water.

Grancrete is a proprietary mixture including fly ash based on a
relationship with Argonne National Labs which patented the parent
product Ceramicrete. Ceramicrete was developed to encase nuclear
waste material.

Another manufacturer sells a version for filling potholes in roads.
It sticks to concrete or asphalt, cures very fast, and is hard and strong.
