RE: [papercreters] Re: Press

Nice looking bricks Clair.  I’m looking forward to the video.  If you were starting from scratch is there anything that you have learned so far that would change how you built your press?

Well 3 a min id like to see that smells a little like bs to me ,first you have to let the mix drain for a while. If you put the normal slurry in it will shoot out like a cow having a bad day.so 3 a min from what i see on his page ,im doutfull. Now getting the dryer mix into the chamber it has to drop a mesured amount in each time and every time.It does take a bit of time for the water to drain as well when you are moving the piston forward, and even then the water is coming out fast .I drilled around 150 holes to let the water out as you move the piston forward ,when we did the first test we flexed the 14 inch bridge beam while compressing so you need lots of holes or it will just shoot out any gap you have.I have some video of this its just getting edited right now ,will be doing a demo for my church and will video it with 4 cameras and will post it when done. The snow is melting fast now its a goo pit here till it drys up in a week or two. Hope this helps just my observations as i have actualy done it.Have a great easter weekend

Clair.
