Re: [papercreters] Re: Free Camping - Dome building and papercrete

Its also some of the most extreme weather (cold) in the continental 48. I lived in Billings for a couple of years. It is nestled down in the Yellow stone Valley. This feels like the tropics compared to there in the winter. Berm yourself in on a south slope. It gets a lot of sun even in the winter. I"ll let you know everytime we get a 70 degree day! HA!

Dry I know very well. We are about to break a record for days without rain here. My garden isn't doing well even with irrigation.

Where you are going doesn't look dry. Not much rain in the winter, but plenty of snow, up to 15". That's not bad compared to some areas, you probably won't need a snowmobile. Not much snow in the summer, but some. The last time I was in Montana was in June/July and I remember breaking ice to get a drink in the morning.

As far as I know the reputation thing may be that it is considered DRY, "compared to the rest of montana" not compared to where You or I live currently spaceman... here is the weather data http://bit.ly/miles_city_annual_weather George
