Re: [papercreters] Free Camping - Dome building and papercrete

I have lived in several areas of Montana and it is a great state. I can't think of many areas that I wouldn't gladly relocate to. The area between Miles City and Baker is very scenic. The big drawback to living in Montana is the winters. If you like winter and cold, then you would have no problem. The Miles City area is a cold winter area but the other seasons are not bad with great summer weather. If one were to live in that area year round one would have to do a lot of preparation to be comfortable in the winter. Of course, that can be done. I grew up in western South Dakota which has similar weather and my folks raised 7 kids without electricity or running water or any of the services we assume we need to live in our modern era. I would think that our society would be better off without a lot of these "services" anyway.

Which part doesn't have a good reputation, where George is going? What is the problem? Is there something George needs to be prepared for?

Thanx. I used to live near Eureka and Libby, about 500 miles northwest of there. That part of the country doesn't exactly have the best reputaion of MT. And how in the workd would 30 to 60 families live there on 65 acres? I love NW MT, and down around Billings there is sort of an oasis from the extreme weather in the Yellowstone Valley. Looks like a fun summer camping area, wish I could stop by but don't see that happening!
