If you can afford the concrete it will make things somewhat easier for you. If you want to use a rubble trench foundation that should work out fine. You can goodle rubble trench foundations if you are not familiar with them. What you do is dig a trench down below the frost line and as wide as your wall. Fill it with gravel and build on top of it. You can add latex paint any color(throwaway from the big box store) to your first course of papercrete. It is best to keep papercrete at least 6" above grade so water doesn';t wick into it. You should look at the papercreters group archives and check out my blog, address in signature for more info.

Subject: [papercreters] Foundation
I plan on a small shed to grow food in year around. Walls 1' thick, 8' high. About 10' X 12'. I live in Westeren Colorado, about 9" of rain a year.
Is papercrete ok for a foundation or should I go the extra cost and use just concrete?
Thanks,
Bob
