I've found that I have a good four+ hours to work with the pool coat
recipe. We have just been painting it on with roller and paint brushes.

This lime wash sets up very fast and will crack if the surface is dry
and hot. We have had to spray the dome with a hose every hour or so
to avoid cracking.
