Re: [papercreters] Re: Minimising shrink

Need to have you give me your opinion :  I have a unfinished garage.  The space between studs, where normally one would use rolls of insulation, could one spray PC between the studs, out even with the stud, or more, for the purpose of insulation.  And of course the ceiling (pitched) a well.  What advise wouold you have on such a project. Would one need wire mesh on ceiling?  etc?????????

I have left papercrete in my mixer for a couple of days and it never "set". I was able to use that papercrete, and after being placed where it could drain, it finally cured and got hard. Don't expect papercrete to act like concrete, it won't.

Based on my experience, it might take a very long time for slurry in a watertight mold to get firm. Please let the list know how it turns out when you try it.

Hi

Maybe I should have been clearer: the plan is to place the slurry into a watertight mould, and once the cement has set to green stage demould it. This should reduce the slump that occurs before the cement sets.
