[papercreters] UPDATE: We nixed moving the house

One mover and one contractor advised us against moving the house--too
poorly constructed, they said.

So, back to square one. However the contractor, who of course was
trying to hustle us into letting him do all the work (we couldn't
afford that) is very anti-dome. He is familiar w/papercrete and
claims that you cannot build a monolithic dome out of papercrete. I
never got a solid answer when I asked him why.

But bottom line, he doesn't like domes, period.

Mike, I know you told me once that if you were going to consider a
dome home, you would use concrete instead. Well, we are somewhat
flexible, although the cheapness of the papercrete sure sounded good.

Talk to me, Mike. After building the dome for your generator, why
would you still choose concrete for a dome home vs papercrete. Are
there problems w/the shrinkage trying to fill in around the rebar or
chicken wire with the papercrete?

Or if you go the airform route, is it too slippery or heavy to stick
to the airform without distorting it before its set-up time?

Thanks.

Connie
