Today I got a chance to stop by a new shop here in our isolated
costal town.. The "Alternative Building Center" is a store carrying all
types of eco groovy and recycled, natural based products. A couple of
DIY green builders decided we needed such a resource here when they
could'nt find any of the green products while building their own
cabin.
Besides the natural clay products and Marmoleum, cork and bamboo
flooring they have a new product called
Squak Mountain Stone
A Fibrous-cement material comprised of recycled paper, recycled
glass, coal fly-ash and Portland cement. Material is hand-cast into
"slabs" as an alternative to natural or quarried stone. Resembles
soapstone or limestone
good for an environmentally -friendly countertop or table top.

The press release says the slabs have o rebar or steel in them, and are
cast ( like papercrete) I am guessing they use aspecial fiber like the
Japanese PVA fiber made by Kuraray Inc.

Just scroll down to see various products
I have been crazy for cork flooring for years and am very tempted to
use it for a bedroom floor, the colors and grain patterns are gorgeous,
and it holds up well to doggy toenails.
If you live on the west coast and don't have a store like this near
you, then ordering from them is at least helping a small, green
business, with good intentions, because many of the "sustainable"
products are transported from far away anyway.
