Judith, Somewhere on you mixer there should be a square drive plug (about 1/2" to 3/4") that you should take out and drain the contents. Then refill the differential with different oil to be sure there is no water in it. When you take the square drive plug out have it disconnected from your truck so you can tilt it so the hole is down (that will allow you to be sure you are getting everything out). Then reinstall the plug and fill it from another plug nearer the top. You may need to use a little pressure to get it filled all the way to the top (where your blade is mounted and where the top bearing is). I used a ketchup bottle and a piece of clear vinyl tubing to fill mine (took about 35 ketchup bottles full). From the looks of the assembly yours was in good shape at the gathering last year so it should not be a problem. Even if it goes belly up though, you can score a different rear end at most junk yards or if you know someone with an obvious "dead" vehicle on their place you can put your tank and assemblage of parts on the "new" one fairly cheaply (time excluded). Another thing is how was it stored? Did you have it tipped so the oil would leak out into the tank? If that is the case then maybe all that is necessary is for the fill sequence.
