[papercreters] RE: replacement for dry wall panels

Bueno, Todd in Puerto Vallarta!

I am in Tucson. Dr. Diane Austin, at the University of Arizona's Bureau
of Applied Research in Anthropology has built a couple papercrete houses
in Mexico. Peter Edmunds and Mike McCain (the original) are working
with papercrete filled SIP's in Mexico. I have a few other contacts
south of the border, but most others are not actively building at the
moment as far as I know.

Regarding pre-fab papercrete wall panels, there is a Canadian company
that makes them for highway sight/noise barriers. I forgot their name
and cannot find them at the moment. I seem to remember them selling a
press.

Let's chat about this sometime.

If you wanted to create an entire wall panel (prefab type) from papercrete for a project where there was a budget available to create some custom presses, what would be the downside? If we used a rolling press, would that work or would we lose density down the line? I have a lot of flexibility with how to build this project. I would really like to reach out and do something unique. Do you think a machine could be made that would make strong, long lasting, fireproof, waterproof wall panels in lengths as large as say, 20 x 10 feet? Ideally, I would like to build a belt fed press that could make single piece panels even longer.
