[papercreters] Re: Legality of papercrete housing

Here in Beckham County Oklahoma, we as all States and Counties that took Federal Stimulis Money are now required to adhere to the Uniform Administrative Code, which requires all who took Federal Money, to accept and enforce the ICC building codes.

The major problem being most counties have no way of enforcing this code because of lack of funding to fill a code enforcer position. Even the State of Oklahoma can not fill the Building Contractor position, they are only able to fill the Trades like Electrical, Plumbing and HVAC. Lucky for everybody that lives out of city limits, they can dig a hole in the ground and live in it if they want too, they only need to have the county health dept sign off on their septic system, but if they don't have a septic system they can crap anywhere they want to and nobody will be the wiser. Ain't freedom great?

I was not born in Texas, missed the state line by 35 miles, I use to live in Dallas and loved it, never had to pay state income tax or property tax until I bought a house then all hell broke loose, found out property owners are the ones paying all the bills.  If you live in Texas, rent and live in a furnished apartment and you will never have to pay property tax or state income tax.  If you come to Beckham County, Oklahoma stay out of cities, find something out in the country, build what you want and don't own a septic system. I really boils down to don't ask, don't tell, and you can be as free as you want to be.
