[papercreters] Re: Editing old post from NEW ones

Good Point Glenneth,

Appropriate trimming of old posts is definitely encouraged.

Usually it is helpful to leave a few lines of a previous post to
provide a frame of reference so we can see what someone is replying
to.

We also encourage everyone to update the subject lines of their
posts. It's not unusual for a conversaton to drift from an initial
post. As we do so, please adjust the subject line appropriately.

Having said that, I'm guilty of forgetting these points myself from
time to time. Usually when I'm in a hurry going through my
overfilled inbox is when I tend to get lax. None of us is perfect.
As long as we keep trying, we'll be fine.

Having moderators edit each message to get the format of each and
every post perfect is a bit overkill IMHO. Our moderators are great
people, but they do have other things to do in their lives than
monitor minutia. Personally, I'd rather see a few imperfectly
formatted posts if it frees up time for lots more pictures and
explanations of projects.

Our moderators do their best, and I thank them for their efforts.
