Go big on the pump. Mine is a 9HP / 3" diameter / trash pump. I would go bigger if I could afford it. I don't like how much water my setup uses.

But you don't, really. With pto driven you HAVE TO be running the mixerwhen you're adding ingredient, so it's not available for liftingingredients. And having the mixer up that high is problematic for otherreasons. With a house sized form, even with a form the length of a wall, you would have to move the mixer.I'm thinking Mikey has the right idea . . . PUMP IT. I just need to be sureI can find a pump that will pump MY mix.ElfN----- Original Message -----From: "slurryguy" <slurryguy@yahoo.com>Sent: Wednesday, July 02, 2008 7:03 AMSubject: [papercreters] Re: Mixer updateYou are actually thinking along the same lines I've been thinking. If the mixer tank and blade were up high, like on a really strongscaffold, but still mounted on a trailer, you wouldn't need the trashpump. You'd only need to pump the water up to the tank and then use atrough. Gravity would do the work with the wet mix.Still would have to lift the dry paper, dry cement, and whateveradditives you are planning, but you've got the front-end loader on thetractor to make that easier.--- In papercreters@yahoogroups.com, "ElfNori" <elf@...> wrote:Welcome Gero!I've seen those used for cement work. Using this method wouldrequire the tractor be disconnected from the mixer so it could be usedfor lifting the hopper (that's what that device is called over here). The mix would have to be transferred to the hopper for delivery to theform. That would require the mixer be high enough in relation to thehopper for gravity feeding the mix. That's not impossible . . .ElfN------------------------------------Yahoo!
