Can you pour your floor in sections instead of a monolithic slab? Then
you would not have to spend $8K in one shot.

My floor has 12" of papercrete with 2" of concrete floating on top of
that, insulated thermal mass. The slab is enclosed by the 12"+ thick
walls, also. With hydronic tubing in the slab I have the choice of
running cool or warm water through it to modify the inside temperature
if I have to.
