Re: [papercreters] Re: crosslinked polyethylene tubing

He most likely was trying to print 3/4" , they do not make PEX in that large a diameter for res. work. Cast iron is still used in Ind. Plb. with no hub or in areas where eliminating noise for area of conference rooms. If you are on welll water have it tested for mineral content; even CPVC can become brittle after 12 to 15 years and there is no need to discuss the dielectolysis of copper with metals. The DWV industry may take PVC and eliminate it in3 to 5 years; the chlorine gas dispelled for it when burned or smoldered is $@^&^*

3 inch diameter?

Don't you think that's extreme overkill for trying to bury in a
radiant floor?

That sounds like a size approprate for a public water main. I cannot
imagine trying to bend something that large into a pattern that would
heat a floor without kinking the tubing.

I've never seen pex used for drain/waste/ vent, but maybe it could be
used for that. I don't know if it would pass code or not. PVC is
the most common, ABS is less common, but also used, and cast iron is
old school for DWV.

A typical home construction simply will never use that large diameter
of PEX.
