[papercreters] Re: Water Harvesting

Interesting article Curtis, thanks.

I've often thought that creative improvisation could be used to
capture runoff water for use during construction. It might be a
temporary system using a few tarps on the ground, some rocks, and
some sand. Ideally, this area would take advantage of the natural
topography of the site.

If there is a dry well at the downhill side, a solar or wind powered
pump could pump the water back uphill to some drums or a simple tank.

This area would not only collect precipitation that falls, but it
also could collect and recycle water that drains off slurry when
casting it.

If somebody has a great deal of foresight, the temporary collection
system might eventually become part of a landscape water utilization
plan similar to what is described in the article.

That idea of collecting runoff water off the street is very creative.

control runoff in arid areas.
