[papercreters] Re: Floors laid on dirt

Oooops! Nori, just now seeing your special effort to show me that
video on the cobblewood floor. My apologies.

Watched it. Loved it! Beautiful and sure gives me ideas. Don't
know how that will work out all over house though. Hubby wants to
put in geo-thermal in floor which is another reason he argues on
behalf of slab versus the road base we looked at. He says the
concrete would be more thermal and the road base would be more
insulating. Funny part is though we looked at a strawbale house
built on a slab with the geo-thermal. The owners said they were very
disappointed in its performance for heating the floor in winter. I
don't know why pouring an adobe-style or clay floor over the piping
of the geo barely buried or even just laying on top of the compacted
road base would not work better.

But! Your cobble wood floor would work beautifully I think on our
loft master bedroom if we go that route.
