Hi There;
The mix is metered out by using 3 or 5 gallon plastic pales. The pales
are often free from donut, coffee, deli shops. There are numerous ways
to discover the clay content of soil. Where I live the sides of hills
here look sculpted cause the clay is so pure. But, the fruit jar test is
the best.......... put your soil in a fruit jar 1/2 full..... then fill
with water..... put the lid on and shake vigorously. Now put the jar out
of the way for a day. When you see it again the settlment layers will
tell you the content of your soil. The only lime I have used is the
construction grade found at all Home Depot like stores.
There are soil maps available from your county agent that will discern
public area for collecting materials.
Hope this helps........... Bob

What type of clay and lime are your recommending? Quick Lime /
dehydrated lime? Is clay just soil?
