I am not even a closet chemist so have not a clue about the possibilities of chemicals in cardboard. They make glue out of old horses, right?

Subject: [papercreters] Chemicals in Cardboard?
Since Judith has been having such great luck with cardboard now that newsprint is unavailable to her in quantity, I was wondering about the possible contaminents in cardboard. Does anyone know what the glues are made from? Are these chemicals water soluable? Would they be "washed out" in the large volume of water in a tow mixer? Thanks for any input.
