/////// Chipboard as their material for cabinetry. What they don't
use goes through a grinder of sorts and is bagged up and thrown away.
Would this material be good for what your describing?

HI Rob, it is possible to use that, sure, a clay coating will make
it more fire resistant.
does it have glues and formaltehyde in it, or other chemicals to make
the composte chip board?
I'd ask them if they can tell you, and decide from there. if it has
a heavy amount of chemicals and glues it may burn faster or "off
gas". into your living space,,. but when coated thoroughly with clay
and / or plastered over with clay and lime it may encapsulate the chip
crumble and make it inert.
for a shed I'd not worry about it, and just try it. If someone had
lots of dry crispy seaweed to chop up I'd try that too.. why not try
what you have wherever you are?
Tapasananda- the guy inventor of Pararcrete ( I listed the site
link in my last email) uses the very tiny EPS 'dust" from a factory
that crumbles up the waste polystyrene, bags it and wanst it gone..
so he uses what he can get- free- and created a paperless
papercrete-like cement mix that will not burn.
the SAWDUST I got recently came from a small factory nearby that makes
wooden products-- guitar parts, wood bowls, boards, tools and other
stuff. I was able to take 8 HUGE black bags filled with various types
and sizes of sawdust from hardwood plane shavings ( like tiny curled
up cones) to absolute powder from fine sanding. so all of it is being
tested with clay and lime in my wall infill mixes.
John Stahl, near me, is a hemp papermaker, he uses chopped hemp plant
parts and chopped shrubbery on his property to make AGSTONE as he
calls it. www.tree.org at his site search for natural building
pages.
so yes.. I'd like people to come up with materials and try them and
report back.. I keep repeating papercrete is an IDEA,
