The plastic is smooth and will not stick well in your mix. It can

I would recommend saving those plastic bottles for cement mortars.
You can slice the plastic into very thin strips 1/16 of a inch or less
and use them as a cheap form of ECC fibers to reduce cracking in your
cement mortars.
Hi all- I can verify that small plastic does not work well in
clay-only mixes.
But you can get "snow" flakes plastic, 1 pound bags for $. 50 to .25
cents on sale AFTER the hoilday, in craft stores, at the "Dollar Zone"
and other type cheapo stores.( $1-$1.99 before)
it is a fine ground plastic that is inert, looks like snow chips and
may be useful for other mixes high in cement too... I imagine it's too
stiff for clay or lime plasters, but I have not tried it yet.
also shredded up "Easter grass"is another option for adding in to
ecment mixes
