[papercreters] Construction expense tracking

Does anyone know of a Dome Book like system for keeping track of construction expenses during the course of the project. I see plenty of books about estimating (and have a good one) but nothing that would provide and ongoing expense accounting with descriptions. I know this is just common sense to many people but I seem to be a bit dislexsic when it comes to organizing such things.
