RE: [papercreters] eco- reycyled materials

Thanks so much. This looks promising. The fact that they are heavy indicates that they will stand up to the weather. Well of course they would. That's what they're made for. Where have you gotten yours? Do billboard companies like to get rid of them. Can't they reuse them somehow? Or is it just easier to start over with a new one?

The billboard tarps are *VERY* heavy.  When folded they are probably 3'x3'x3' and weigh in the neighborhood of 150 – 200#....at least the ones I've gotten did….and I'm not sure they're vinyl.  It appeared to me that they were PVC coated canvas or maybe sailcloth.  The PVC coating is on both sides but the printing is only on one side leaving the other one bright white.  You can get paint made especially for plastic if you want to cover the printed side of the tarp.

I've used them for everything from an aviary roof to horse stall walls.  They don't tear when a horse kicks it and the horse doesn't get his foot caught and ripped up like wood or metal….and the horses don't seem to mind the print.  Maybe it gives them something to do on rainy days….reading the ads. ;)

I just sent an email to Nolan about the billboard tarps. I've been looking for something like this that isn't going to cost me hundereds of dollars. I've put construction on my papercrete house on hold because of the permit problems. I plan to put a tarp over the vigas (like a tent) and call it a "Party Pavillion". Seems like this would be the perfect solution especially since
