Re: [papercreters] Re: rollers for stationary mixer

I agree with guy but understand you do not want the tires right next to each other in case of a blow out. That will cause a lock up also so you want room for the flat to flop around freely. Of course you want to shut down the power unit whatever it is right away hence a deadman switch hooked up to whatever your using. All of this has been worked out and been in use for years by some of the N.M. crews working with pc.

First ... My compliments on your helpers. Real cuties. I'm sure you
already do, but I encourage you to stay vigilant and keep them both
safe. Spinning blades or runaway vehicles could make for a horrible
day. The wheel and rollers are magnets for loose clothing, feet, or
fingers. I don't want to be a pessimist, but I'd rather mention these
things in hopes of giving you an extra boost of caution than to hear
about an accident some day. Please be careful.

Is that you in the first picture? Was Auguste Rodin the photographer?
You do appear deep in thought, but the area doesn't look much like
France. (Our artists will appreciate this obscure joke.
Google "Auguste Rodin" for more info.)

Getting back on topic...
The longer the rollers are the greater the stresses on the bearings in
the rollers. You might want to consider shortening the rollers. They
only need to be wide enough to match the width of the tire being used
to power them.
