I've got one and was using it to blast a mix of paper, clay, fine local sand, slaked lime and
borax onto earthbag walls covered in stucco netting. I've got pictures here: http://
www.AnnesleyPhoto.com/sandbags.html
including photos of the suspension harness I
built to keep the weight off the lower back while using the thing.
I've got a 7.5 horsepower gas powered air compressor on wheels- an Emglo, actually quite
quiet, more so than a lot of electric ones I've been around. I've got a surplus of air
pressure- and to be honest I found everything worked much more smoothly and
effectively with the Tirolessa when I followed the sellers posted recommendation of using
stucco/slurry that has the consistency of toothpaste: that's what this thing was designed
to blast. You get too much thinner, and the slurry will run out the four large ports on the
front of the hopper before you can aim the thing and pull the trigger. Making a stiffer mix
of 'slurry' also has the benefit of reducing the water content, and possibly resulting in less
cracking in the stucco / render / whatever-you-call-it. I've been running the thing at the
recommended 40 psi and it works fine, also evens out the pressure swings I'd otherwise
get because at higer psi, the tank runs out of air too quickly and the pressure drops-- we
were emptying one hopper every ten seconds sometimes, until the tow mixer was empty.
