No! Don't! Adding drywall BAD!
My partner has been studying concrete chemistry and drywall
creates a self expanding mess in portland cement. In fact
it forms "ettringite" which is blast-less demolition material
that expands with many PSI force to break apart rock and solid
structures.
She says if you instead add class C flyash to your portland
cement (up to 60%) you will have a stronger concrete and use
less water. Flyash can be gotten really cheap since it is a
product of coal burning power generation plants. We priced it
and in 50# bags it's only $2/bag from Fritz Industries. No
idea how cheap in large shipments but a lot of the $2/bag
was the inconvenience of bagging it.
