It would be rude for me to ask what everyone else is doing if I
didn't share what I have planned.
I'm currently working on some testing experiments. The samples that
are drying right now were made using the same mix Spaceman has used
to build his dome.
I'm also planning on building a semi-portable storage shed later this
fall. Nothing particularly huge or fancy. I want it to blend in
with the neighborhood. If it works well, I'd like to come up with a
design where I could supply a simple storage shed to each new Habitat
House in my area. (I should be able to get volunteers to help with
those.)
Long term I'm planning on a home, but that's a year away before I get
started if not longer. I know the piece of land I want to buy, and
the farmer that owns it wants to sell it to me. There are some
issues with the county about subdividing land listed for agricultural
use and someone building residential on it. The actual piece of land
is unuseable for farming/grazing. It's rocky, heavily wooded, and on
a moderately steep south facing slope. It will be challenging to
build on, especially excavation for a foundation. The big upside is
a magnificent location to live, a nice view, and a reasonable price.
Will need to build a 1/4 mile road to gain access. Very rural
setting. I won't buy the land until the county approves what I want
to do with it. They move slow.
Ok that's me. Who's next? Whatcha buildin?
