I have a couple of TBH's. I make them out of re-purposed wood. Old fence panels that I breakdown. I use slats for the side panels and old 1x12" for the two ends. Slats cut down for the top bars. Old political signs for the roof. My only expense is screws to hold it all together. Bees don't seem to mind at all.
A PC roof for the hive would seem very doable. __._,_.___
