My reply -- I'm a total newbie who loves learning the new stuff, but whose accountant husband will probably never try.  I do hope to get handy-but-broke son-in-law interested so he can maybe build a house with PC on our land.

In the meantime, MANY thanks for the post below.  I've never had anything to contribute except now my thanks.  The guy who just quoted us a solar system was bowled over by this info.  By the time we break ground on our new place, all kinds of technology will be cheaper.

Never thought of asking for solar info here, but the people who look at PC have all kinds of "out there" interests.

Question -- anyone in E. Texas ever build a passive solar home?  No one here seems to know anything about it.
