Hi all.. yes NO ONE should use some of the older components in Jack Bays recipes-- he designed then in the 1930s when lead paint was in favor to.
So common sense ( and a very clear warning on the package of info) says to choose modern materials to add-- pumice, detergents, surfactants, etc can be mixed with Asphalt Emulsion.
people CONFUSE Asphalt- which is crude tar-- with Asbestos ( no longer used in anything!)
AE has tar- mixed with bentonite clay and water in a jelly like suspension. If Ron R. has bentonite clay he can try that.
HOPEFULLY Ron Richter read the instructions and sees that there is NO NEED to use the out of date stuff.
--- Asphalt is in many products used today including roofs ( shingles are tar and paper and gravel) building paper, etc.
AE in a can is non toxic, this info is all in the materials about making RRS.
In any case - Jack Bays recipes are much like Papercrete- shredded cardboard- sand cement- clay- he used lime also, he added white glue, etc to make a tough flooring, a plaster,
he also carved in stone shapes when used over walls.
A biggie in the 30s was bugs coming in at the baseboards, so his RRS for making a floor coating which went up to the basebaord height eliminated drafts and bugs coming in.
