Wonderful suggestion. I will try it. I just made a form 15" x 20" and about 10" deep. I am bored and restless from too many days in front of this computer and must cure the affliction by making papercrete.
I was at the store yesterday with Mom and the Little Debbie guy was just getting done stocking the shelves so I was able to get all his broken down boxes for the cardboard. Am on my way now to put it to soak in my 55 gal drums.
Will make a full mixer load of papercrete w/o cement to see how they come out to be used by kids. Well maybe I should put in a tiny bit of cement. Just want them to be really light. I am also planning to press out some of the water hoping to get a more uniform shape. Have not pressed papercrete before.

Judith I soak my paper over night in a 20 stainless steel shop vac drum, I pulp it up with the stainless steel drywall morter mixer shown below takes about 1 minute, I then either scoop the pulp out of the drum with my hands if I don't want it very wet, or dip it out by the gallon either way I put it into my 7 gal plastic container and add dry sand I blend this with my mixer for about 30 seconds, I then add my dry cement and blend about 1 min. All in all it is very fast and safe, especially for kids. After you add the cement you will think the mix is a way too dry but in no time at all it will become very smooth and moist, not wet.
